Justin Hileman

Entrepreneur, maker & coder

Personal Biography

My name is Justin Hileman. I am a buzzword compliant San Francisco based entrepreneur and software engineer. I'm co-founder of Presentate, which is 100% awesome.

I love working with cool people to make cool things. I like pushing the limits of web and interaction design, convincing CSS, HTML and JavaScript to do things that don't seem possible.

I own more domain names than I'd care to admit…

I'm married to Renee DiResta, the love of my life and a generally all-around awesome lady. You should read her blog to get an idea just how awesome that really is.

I like warm, light rain. I say that I enjoy camping and hiking and the outdoors in general, then I end up spending all of my time in front of a computer — But I like computers too, so I don't mind too much.

I make some mean code.

I leverage Open Source web technology — things like Node.js, nanoc, Rails, Sinatra, React, Backbone.js, HTML5, JavaScript, Ruby, PHP and MongoDB — to provide cost-effective, fast and innovative web solutions.

That last sentence was pretty amazing. I could probably squeeze a few more buzzwords into it if I tried…

& cetera

I abuse horizontal ellipses more than any other punctuation mark…

I ride a 1964 Vespa, a scooter named Stella and a bike without gears or brakes. I went on a 5800 mile scooter trip during the summer of 2006. I'd recommend this to anyone.

I dance Lindy Hop, Balboa and blues. These are like "The Swing" but way more awesome.
